A fantastic TEAM performance brought three valuable points for SYCOB as they finally turned possession and chances into goals and if they had won the game by double the amount The Ducks could have had no complaints.
The first fifteen minutes were quite a scrappy affair by both teams with Aaron Berry and Ashely Kelynack having tame shots easily dealt with by Jack Sillitoe in the Aylesbury goal. On thirty minutes, however, The Rams finally made a break through when the two Aarons, Couch and Berry, combined with Couchy getting the finishing touch to chalk up his second goal since returning to The Rams from Burnham. The Ducks new striker Lewis Putman had an effort cleared off the line on 33 minutes as United tried to fight their way back into the game and SYCOB were indebted to keeper Sam Bunting for an absolutely stunning save on the stroke of half time - still not sure how he managed to get his body in the way of the goal bound effort!
That save made manager Andy Hurley's half time talk a lot easier and his Rams came out early for the second period, eager to get on and complete the job. Within six minutes of the restart Couch forced the first of numerous quality saves out of Sillitoe but the keeper could do nothing about Ashely Kelynack's run and sublime finish in the 52nd minute. This was followed two minutes later with Couchy again linking up with Berry and The Rams No.10 slotted home his second of the game.
Aylesbury's cause was not helped by the sending off of striker Stacey Field in the 55th minute for dangerous play and if it wasn't for Sillitoe making great saves from Lee Togwell and Aaron Berry The Rams could have put the game to bed before the hour mark was up. Ollie Jones and Omari Patrick missed highly presentable chances before Sillitoe made further stunning saves from Berry (twice) and Adam Cash but The Ducks keepers luck finally ran out in time added on when a shot from Omari Patrick took a bit of a deflection to give The Rams a 4-0 victory.
This was a really good performance by SYCOB and one that will hopefully prove to be the catalyst for future ones. A few more like this and they'll soon be out of relegation trouble.
