BEACONSFIELD SYCOB 0 POTTERS BAR TOWN 1

SYCOB could count themselves extremely unfortunate not to have at least a point to show for their endeavours against an organised Potters Bar Town side.

Apart from one effort cleared off the line in the fifth minute, the first thirty odd minutes belonged to The Rams - Aaron Berry went close on ten minutes, Ollie Jones forced Scholars stopper Mike Underwood into a good save two minutes later, Elliot Carey sent a free kick whistling wide on 22 mins and Underwood was again at his best to deny Berry on the half hour mark. A failure to score when on top, however, bit SYCOB on the backside on 35 minutes when a free kick by Ben Bowditch was met by the head of Josh Hutchinson and his effort looped over Sam Bunting to give Potters Bar the lead very much against the run of play.

The second period again saw The Rams rack up the near misses tally - Elliot Carey fired over on 48 minutes and the returning Jordan "AJ" Ajanlekoko had a header cleared off the line on 55 minutes. Carey again went close on the hour mark whilst Ollie Jones brought out a great save from Underwood on 66 minutes. Potters Bar, well marshalled by half time sub Tyler Hatherley, were content to play on the break and Sam Bunting had to be alert on 77 minutes to keep The Rams in it.

Despite further decent attempts by Jones, Ashley Kelynack and Danilson Vincente the much deserved equaliser never materialised and The Rams were left to rue their luck. They should, however, take heart from a good all round performance that hopefully will stand them in good stead for the rest of the  season and the battle to avoid relegation.
