THREE GOALS AND THREE POINTS FOR ROCKING RAMS!

SYCOB come from behind to claim only their second home win of the season

Aylesbury may be in the bottom section of the League table but they arrived at Holloways Park buoyed by the addition of new manager (and ex-Slough boss) Steve Bateman. He brought with him ex-Rebels hitman Danny Burnell and within two minutes Burnell had latched onto a hopeful punt into the Rams box that was misjudged by James Reading and slotted the ball past the SYCOB keeper.

That, however, was as good as it got for The Moles as a determined Rams side set about the visitors. John Christian, Jack Hutchinson, Brian Haule and Zak Joseph all had decent half chances as SYCOB piled on the pressure and the onslaught finally told on 21 minutes when Joseph pounced on a slip in the Aylesbury midfield and notched his sixth goal of the season for Beaconsfield.

Rhys Marshall in the Aylesbury goal was by far the busier of the two keepers and made a couple of good saves to deny Nathan Poulton and John Christian but SYCOB could sense three points even though they went in on level terms at half time.

The second period began with Wayne O'Sullivan making a great run down the right and pulling the ball back for Christian to strike a shot that narrowly missed The Moles goal. The half was only four minutes old when SYCOB were awarded a free-kick just outside the Aylesbury 18 yard box. Up stepped (Captain for the day) Nathan Poulton to plant the ball into Marshall's net for his fourth Rams goal of the campaign.

At 2-1 The Rams continued to create lot more chances but just couldn't get the killer third goal - one miss from Kofi Lockhart-Adams in particular had most of the crowd shaking their head in disbelief. Aylesbury did threaten a breakaway goal on a couple of occasions but generally SYCOB kept up the pressure and were rewarded in the 87th minute when John Christian was upended by Marshall and Wayne O'Sullivan stepped up to convert the resulting penalty.

A couple of weeks ago Beaconsfield would have drawn or even lost this game. They've now won two on the spin for the first time since the opening week of the season. There's a good team being built by Gary and Greg and the futures a lot brighter than it was a fortnight ago.
