Beaconsfield chalked up a second home win in three days and whilst it might not have been as spectacular as the victory over Rushden, the three points gained means The Rams keep in touch with the pack chasing a Play Off place.
The first real chance of note came in the twelfth minute when Sam Deadfield zig-zagged through The Reds defence but saw his shot cannon off the right post. On the half hour sub Sanchez Cammock put a shot wide but four minutes later The Rams deservedly took the lead when the classy Deadfield was set up by Aaron Berry to shoot past Paul McCarthy in the Uxbridge goal.
Two minutes later the hard working Aaron Minhas motored into the Uxbridge area and slotted past McCarthy and when Berry brought out a good save from The Reds No.1 just before half-time it looked as though Beaconsfield might run riot in the second period.
A couple of changes by Uxbridge at half time, however, shored up their midfield, and The Rams couldn't get back in to their free flowing rhythm of the first 45. Indeed, other then Deadman having a great free kick saved by McCarthy on 47 minutes, it was Uxbridge who looked the more likely to score. On 67 minutes they did just that as a scramble in The Rams area saw Reece Grant latch onto the loose ball to fire past Sam Bunting.
A nervous last twenty minutes for Rams followers could have been avoided if Commack had taken either of the great chances that came his way in the 75th minute but in the end Beaconsfield held on for a hard earned three points. In a tight division where (almost) anyone can beat anyone hard earned points like these are to be applauded and could make all the difference come the end of the season.
