Tiverton Ten Take the Points

BEACONSFIELD TOWN 0         TIVERTON TOWN 2

Rams Man Of The Match: JEROME ECCLESTON

Despite playing with ten men for 84 minutes high flying Tiverton Town deservedly left Holloways Park with all three points.

In a first ever meeting between the clubs it was The Rams who started brightest, Charlie Losasso seeing a second minute shot turned away by Yellows keeper Liam Armstrong whilst sixty seconds later Jordan Ajanlekoko saw a header go just over. On six minutes, however, Tiverton’s Harry Evans was shown a straight red card for a foul on Mayowa Balogun, a decision that looked hash to most observers.

Rams Brendan Matthews then saw his tenth minute effort well saved by Armstrong whilst Losasso’s follow up was cleared off the line by Josh Key. If either had gone in it would have led to a totally different game. However, the visitors regrouped and on 28 minutes a long ball was missed by The Rams defence and Tom Path pounced to shoot through Ravan Constable’s legs to put Tiverton a goal up.

The Rams Tony Mendy then had an effort that beat Armstrong but not the bar but in truth clear chances for either side were slim on the ground.

The second period saw Beaconsfield have plenty of possession but without delivering any punishing final ball. Sub Andre Costa had two decent half chances, a 68th minute effort that went just over and a 75th minute effort that was saved by Armstrong. The visitors made sure of the points on 78 minutes when Levi Landricombe fired home after The Rams failed to clear their lines.

Despite the man disadvantage Tiverton dug in and defended superbly across their whole team and their long journey back to Devon will have been a happy one. For the home side, a bit of an ‘off day’ but no need to panic. This is a tough league where any mistakes are punished but Beaconsfield has a strong enough squad and management team to pick themselves and go again.

Come On You Rams!
