The Rams are delighted to announce that Sam Togwell has agreed to take on the Player/Assistant Manager position, to support Jon Underwood after Neil Baker's decision to step down from his role as Joint Manager.

Sam was an integral part of last season's team, making 49 appearances and scoring 2 vital goals, so we are delighted to welcome him back to the Rams for 2023/24 in this new role.

A former pro with the likes of Barnsley and Chesterfield, Sam played over 400 professional games before moving into Non-League with Eastleigh and Slough Town. His brother Lee starred for The Rams back in their SYCOB days. Has played and won a Play Off final at Wembley with Scunthorpe United and is an Arsenal supporter.

Rams manager, Jon Underwood added, "I am delighted that Sam has agreed to take on the extra responsibility, in addition to playing, and with his experience and knowledge of the game he will be the perfect sounding board for me. He has the respect of the players and is someone who will challenge me in the right way and that is exactly what you need from an assistant."
