Beaconsfield returned from a rain soaked Runnymede Stadium with a hard earned and well deserved point against one of the leagues in-form sides, the draw extending Beaconsfield's unbeaten run to five matches.
The Rams didn't get off to the best of starts as a mistake by Guri Demuria on five minutes allowed Bajam Pashaj to nip in before keeper Brendon Hazlett could get to the ball and he calmly slotted home to give The Sarnies the lead.
Beaconsfield didn't crumble but continued to play their passing game and on thirty minutes they were level when Charlie Losasso made a good run with the ball and slid it perfectly into the path of Jack Read who passed it under keeper Jamie Norris. Read also forced Norris into a good save on 41 minutes whilst Brendon Hazlett had to be alert to keep out a good effort by Jake Cass. Chances for Pashaj and Brendon Matthew also went begging for the home side just before half time.
The second period saw Aaron Berry have a great chance within sixty seconds of the restart but the forward blasted wide when well placed. Ex-Ram Reece Yorke then put a header over on 57 minutes for the home side but generally both sides cancelled each other out - both enjoyed decent periods of possession and are decent footballing sides.
A draw was probably a fair result as neither side really deserved to lose or did enough to win. In such a tight division, who will bet against both teams making the Play Offs?
