YOUNG RAMS PUT THROUGH THEIR PACES!

BEACONSFIELD SYCOB 1 BARNET 2

A young, spirited SYCOB side put up a good show against a Barnet side featuring a handful of first team squad members at the first home friendly played by The Rams in many years. The superior fitness of the Barnet side was always going to be a factor and for long periods they did have the edge over SYCOB with the experienced Jon Nurse heading them into the lead and the pacy Jemal Lowe adding a second to give Barnet a two goal half time lead.

The Rams never let their heads drop and did play some good, passing football, probing for openings in the Barnet defence throughout the second period. Aaron Berry did find one late in the second half when he scored via a glancing header for this third goal in two pre season games.

A decent crowd, particularly for a hastily arranged friendly, saw two teams put on a quality display that hopefully augers well for the clubs respective new seasons.

Now for the real thing and Bedford Town at home on Saturday 9th August.

Come On You Rams!
